The Solar System
The Solar System is a vast and complex place, and it is it teeming with human life. Humanity has spread far and wide across the system. Nearly every major celestial body in the Solar System has been colonized in some shape or form, and each one has its own unique culture, economy, and society. If it can support human life, it has been settled. If it can be exploited for resources, it has been mined. And if it can't do either of those things, it has been turned into a research station or a military outpost.
Crossing The Void
The trick was simple: we built spaceships that could travel between the planets. These ships are powered by a type of drive that provides constant acceleration, allowing them to reach their destinations quickly and efficiently. They use a combination of solar sails, ion drives, and nuclear engines to propel themselves through the vacuum of space, and they are capable of traveling at speeds that would have been unimaginable just a few centuries ago.
A New Age of Humanity
The colonization of the Solar System has ushered in a new age of humanity. We have become a spacefaring species, capable of traveling between the planets and moons of our own solar system. But we have also changed ourselves in the process. We have adapted to life in space, evolving new technologies and new ways of thinking to survive in the harsh environment of the void. Genetic engineering, cybernetic enhancements, and artificial intelligence are now commonplace, and they have transformed us into something new, something different, something more than human.
Post Scarcity, Printers, and Fab Units
The colonization of the Solar System has also brought about a new era of abundance. With the advent of advanced 3D printing technology and their feed stock, Fab Units, resources are no longer scarce. Everything from food to clothing to tools can be manufactured on demand, and the need for traditional economies and supply chains has been greatly reduced. This has allowed humanity to focus on other pursuits, such as exploration, research, and art, and has freed us from the constraints of scarcity that have plagued us for millennia. Fab Units have become the default currency of the Solar System, and they are used to purchase goods and services, as well as to fund research and development projects.
The Inner Planets
The Inner Planets are the closest to the sun, and they are the most heavily populated. Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars are all bustling with activity, with cities, colonies, and outposts scattered across their surfaces. These planets are home to billions of people, and they are the economic and political heart of the Solar System. They are also the most heavily defended, with fleets of warships and orbital defenses protecting them from external threats.
The Asteroid Belt
The Asteroid Belt is a vast region of space between Mars and Jupiter, filled with millions of rocky bodies of all shapes and sizes. It is a dangerous and chaotic place, with pirates, smugglers, and other unsavory characters lurking in the shadows. But it is also a place of opportunity, with vast mineral wealth waiting to be exploited. Mining colonies and research stations dot the belt, and it is a hub of activity for those looking to make it rich or make a name for themselves.
The Outer Planets
The Outer Planets are the furthest from the sun, and they are the most remote. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are all gas giants, with vast rings and moons orbiting them. These planets are home to some of the most advanced research facilities and military installations in the Solar System, and they are a hub of scientific discovery and technological innovation.
The Kuiper Belt
The Kuiper Belt is a vast region of space beyond the orbit of Neptune, filled with icy bodies and dwarf planets. It is a cold and desolate place, with few resources and even fewer inhabitants. Explorers and adventurers flock to the belt in search of fame and fortune, and they are willing to risk everything to uncover its secrets.
The Oort Cloud
Here be dragons.
