Step 2: Choose an Archetype
Your character’s archetype defines who your character is physically, and it also defines a lot more about their background. Archetypes are also the source of your character’s starting characteristics, starting xp, wound threshold, strain threshold, and special abilities. It’s up to you whether you want to try make sure your character is optimally suited for a specific career or to build to a specific character concept and worry less about the mechanics.

1 | Baseline | Baselines are unmodified humans, the most common type of human in the system. They have no genetic enhancements or modifications, making them the most versatile and adaptable of all the archetypes. |
2 | Cryonaut | Cryonauts are humans who have been modified to endure the stresses of cryogenic stasis and recover swiftly upon reanimation. They are often found in high-stress environments, such as military operations, scientific research, or corporate espionage. |
3 | Juicer | Juicers are pharmaceutically enhanced humans, capable of feats of strength and agility that far exceed the capabilities of an unmodified human. They are often found in roles that require physical prowess, such as military operations, law enforcement, or professional sports. |
4 | Sage | Sages are genetically engineered to live longer and healthier lives than unmodified humans. They are often found in roles that require wisdom and experience, such as scientific research, medical care, or political leadership. |
5 | Savant | Savants are genetically engineered to push the limits of human cognition. They are capable of processing information at speeds that far exceed the capabilities of an unmodified human, making them ideal for roles that require quick thinking and rapid decision-making. |
6 | Spaceborn | Spaceborn are humans who grew up in the zero-gravity environment of space stations or spaceships. They are often found in roles that require zero-g training, such as space exploration, asteroid mining, or interstellar trade. |
7 | Titan | Titans are born leaders, exhibiting strong and authoritative personalities. Genetically enhanced in utero, the Titan is a marvel of human ingenuity, a testament to our ability to reshape our own destiny. |
8 | Zombie | Zombies are humans who have been modified to remove their consciousness, turning them into efficient and obedient workers without fear, hesitation, or moral qualms. |

If you want to play a character that doesn’t fit into one of these archetypes, talk to your GM about creating a custom archetype.
