Step 3: Choose a Career
A character’s career is their profession or occupation. It is what they do for a living and what they are good at. It will also determine what career skills they have and what equipment they start with.

2 | Convict | Convicts are criminals who have been sentenced to serve time in a penal colony. They are skilled at surviving in harsh environments and need to rely on their wits and cunning to stay alive. |
3 | Engineer | Engineers are highly skilled technicians who are responsible for maintaining and repairing the ship’s systems. They are experts in a wide range of technical disciplines, from propulsion to life support. |
4 | Med-Tech | Med-Techs are medical professionals who are trained to provide emergency medical care to the crew. They are skilled at diagnosing and treating a wide range of injuries and illnesses. |
5 | Navigator | Navigators are responsible for plotting the ship’s course and ensuring that it reaches its destination safely. They are experts in astrodynamics and are skilled at navigating through dangerous territory. |
6 | Operator | Operators are covert operatives who specialize in gathering intelligence and carrying out missions behind enemy lines. They are skilled at infiltration, sabotage, and other clandestine activities. |
7 | Scientist | Scientists are experts in a wide range of scientific disciplines, from biology to astrophysics. They are responsible for conducting research and experiments that further our understanding of the universe. |
8 | Ship-Ops | Ship-Ops are responsible for the ships systems and ensuring that they are operating at peak efficiency. They are skilled at monitoring the ship’s systems and making repairs when necessary. |
