Zombie

Description

Consciousness is a funny thing, some say it's the soul, others say it's the mind, but what happens when you lose it? "Zombies" are those that chose to curb their consciousness on purpose, to let go of their ego, and to embrace the void. Through surgery, drugs, or other means, they have managed to suppress their sense of self, believing that the self is a burden, and that it just gets in the way of the task at hand, they have chosen to become the ultimate tool, a mindless drone that can be used to accomplish any task. It turns out that when you remove the self, you also remove the fear, the hesitation, and the moral qualms that come with it. Capable of incredible feats of strength, speed, and endurance, the Zombie is a force to be reckoned with. The cost of course is their humanity, they are often seen as monsters, and are treated as such by society at large. They are shunned, feared, and reviled, and are forced to live on the fringes of society in the shadows.

They are often found in the employ of those who need a job done, no questions asked, and no moral qualms to get in the way. They make excellent soldiers, spies, and assassins, as they are able to carry out their orders without hesitation or remorse.

Starting Strain Threshold: 12 + Willpower

Starting Experience: 40 XP

Starting Skills: Zombies begin with one rank in Cool or Survival during character creation. They obtain this rank before spending experience points, and may not train this skill above rank 2 during character creation.

Unstoppable: Once per session, a Zombie may spend a Story Point to ignore all Critical Injuries until the end of the encounter.

Occular Short Circuit: Zombies have an uncanny ability to notice things that others might miss. They add aa to all Perception checks.

Mindless: Zombies are immune to the effects of fear and cannot be affected by social checks that target their emotions or mental state.
